Terms and community rules
Effective October 5, 2026. Aloud is operated by Quentin Mayo. Contact aloudlove.support@programmingsecurely.com about these terms, safety, or appeals.
Who can use Aloud
You must be at least 18 years old. Use accurate account information, keep your password private, and use only accounts you are entitled to access. Email verification confirms access to an inbox; it does not establish someone’s identity, background, or trustworthiness. Do not evade a suspension.
Your content and permission to host it
You keep ownership of your writing, photographs, and recordings. Only upload content you own or have permission to use. You give Aloud permission to store, process, and display it as needed to provide the service, follow your sharing choices, investigate safety reports, and meet legal obligations. This permission does not authorize us to publish your private journal or use it in advertisements. You can remove content or delete your account, subject to the retention information in our privacy notice.
Community rules
- No harassment, threats, hate, bullying, stalking, impersonation, scams, coercion, or unsolicited commercial solicitation.
- No nudity, pornography, sexually explicit imagery or recordings, sexual services, trafficking, or non-consensual intimate content.
- No child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, sexual material involving minors, or underage accounts.
- No illegal material, infringement, disclosure of someone’s private information without permission, or attempts to bypass security or moderation.
- Respect consent and boundaries. A match is not consent to sexual content, off-platform contact, or an in-person meeting.
Moderation and reporting
Public discovery introductions are reviewed before publication. Changes can require another review. We may reject or remove content and suspend accounts for rule violations or safety concerns. Use Report and Block in the app, or email support. Reports are reviewed by the operator. You can appeal a decision by email; include your account address and the decision you are appealing. Do not send suspected illegal images.
Personal tools and meeting people
Personal reflection tools are for general use and are not medical advice or therapy. We do not guarantee matches, compatibility, or another member’s conduct. Use your judgment, protect your personal information, and consider meeting in a public place with someone you trust knowing your plans.
Free access and optional subscriptions
Core personal tools, matching, messaging, reporting, blocking, and deletion are free. New paid signups are paused during beta. Beta access is free within the current usage limits. We may introduce optional paid plans later, with details shared in advance and a separate choice to subscribe. Existing subscriptions keep their agreed pricing and renewal terms. A subscription renews until cancelled. Manage web subscriptions in Membership and mobile subscriptions through the store used to purchase them. Cancellation stops future renewal; access continues through the paid period. Refund rights follow applicable law and the payment provider’s process. We do not enable checkout until billing is available for that platform.
Availability and changes
The service can change or be temporarily unavailable. We will explain material changes to these terms in the app or by account email before they take effect when required. You may stop using Aloud and delete your account at any time. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
